Irish Christmas gifting

D8 Candle Co

These 100% soy, 100% handmade Irish candles have become quite the must-have thanks to a weekly product drop that always sells out. Scented with vegan and cruelty-free oils, these candles give a 40-hour burn time and come packaged in the sleekest Scandinavian-inspired designs. We’re big fans of the Nighty Night (€25), scented with lavender and chamomile and packaged in the most perfect pink container.
Pro tip: Match your candle with your accessories for the ultimate in co-ordinated chic. We love the pairing of Rich Ladies (€25) with our Peelo Gold Cloud Clutch (€160).
Mimi & Bowe
Olwen McAuliffe’s five-year-old twin daughters are the muses for her label, Mimi & Bowe, which champions comfort, style and sustainability above all else. Her range of mix-and-match PJs are the most adorable sleepwear you’ll put on your kids, and are designed, she says, for kids who may not want to change out of their pyjamas before leaving the house. The dotty designs will work on boys and girls alike – and Mimi & Bowe’s babygrows (€36) are beyond adorable.
Pop a spare pair of Mimi & Bowe’s loungewear leggings into your Peelo Mini Zip Tote (€245) when you’re on the go – you never know when you might need them.
Under the Willow Print Co
Founded by designer Joan King, Under the Willow Print Co is an Irish design company that specialises in handcrafted cards, prints and illustrations. Choose from cute Christmas cards, Irish proverb prints and illustrations inspired by the island of Ireland, and beautiful, delicate animal illustrations that would look gorgeous in any baby’s bedroom. Prices start at €4.92 for a greeting card.
P.S. For Christmas 2020, we’re including a beautiful Christmas card from Under the Willow Print Co with any Christmas gift orders – just let us know in the note section as you check out!
Loulerie
By now a Dublin institution, Loulerie was opened in 2007 by jewellery designer Louise Stokes, who combines her own eye for beautiful, fashion-forward designs and her skills as a designer to offer an array of designs from incredible brands as well as Loulerie’s own creations, all from a very lovely shop on Dublin’s Chatham St. Loulerie’s fine jewellery collection combines precious metals with beautiful high-end gemstones, with prices starting from €599 for their 14k gold diamond Teardrop Necklace.
Pair a delicate, fashion-forward yet classic shape like Loulerie’s Teardrop Earrings (€65) with Peelo’s Pink Rosabel Cloud Clutch (€160).
Pestle & Mortar
Pestle & Mortar is an Irish range of cruelty-free skincare, developed by co-founder Sonia Deasy who was inspired by the alternative healing that was so intrinsic to her Indian heritage. The brand’s Pure Hyaluronic Serum (€43) has reached cult status, and Pestle & Mortar has been featured in The New York Times, Vanity Fair and Vogue, as well as being Peta-approved. pestleandmortar.com
Pro tip: You’ll fit four of Pestle & Mortar’s Pure Hyaluronic Serums in our Peelo Saffiano Crossbody bag (€225) – Christmas gifts for the gals?
Laura Chambers cashmere
Laura Chambers began knitting as a hobby when she closed her Dublin boutique, Tulle, in 2008 – and it wasn’t long after that she founded her eponymous knitwear brand in 2014. Made from Scottish cashmere, each item is knitted in Ireland in classic silhouettes and designs using bold and sometimes unexpected colour combinations. Prices start at €100 for a Classic Beanie Hat or Baby Blanket. laura-chambers.com
Her Striped Honeycomb Stitch Scarf in Sky Blue and Biscuit (€180) would look incredible contrasted with our Peelo Saffiano Crossbody in Raspberry (€225).
Clé Jewellery
Designed by Aoife Stapleton, Clé – literally meaning “left”, standing for Aoife’s left-handedness and used to describe wearable pieces of art lovingly made by (left) hand – is a range of colourful, quirky and fun jewellery inspired by the Irish countryside. Each item’s name, too, will be familiar to those of us who grew up on the island: the Plamáser earrings (€28) are red oblong shapes reminiscent of Dali’s melting clocks, while Penny Sweets (€38) are a pair of long drop multicoloured earrings that look a little like Granny’s beads, the ones you were obsessed with as a child. Prices start at €20. clestudio.com
Pick up the messages in your Peelo Large Zip Tote (€295) while wearing The Messages earrings (€35)?
